Brief
History - Egba and Yewa (Egbado) People
Egba
(Yoruba) nation that became independent following
the collapse of the Oyo empire in the first
half of the 19th century. It was the first West
African nation, in the 19th century, to have
a written constitution complete with it's own
national anthem, flag and Nigeria's first newspaper.
Today, it is the modern day capital of Ogun
state of Nigeria, West Africa. In recent times,
three Egba citizens have been privileged to
lead NIGERIA, Black Africa's most populous country
including the Chief Aremu Okikiola Olusegun
Obasanjo. 1976 -1979 and 1999 to 2007. The Great
nation continues to produce limitless talent,
accordingly other Abeokuta citizens have continued
to excel in various fields of human endeavour

Yewa
( Ilaro town),
western Ogun state, southwestern Nigeria. Located
on the former trade route from the towns of
the empire of Oyo to the port of Porto-Novo
(now the capital of Benin), 40 miles (64 km)
southwest, it was established by the late 18th
century as the capital and chief trade centre
of the Egbado people (a subgroup of the Yoruba).
